A Single Shot

yes this is that one you're looking for! Understated, moody, 70's like cinema with one of the best performances I've seen in a long while from Rockwell.

The script is written on the assumption that people from rural areas lead dull lives occasionally punctuated by moments of violence or drunkenness. The characters in this movie are underdeveloped. Less mumbling and more acting would have helped the actors provide more interesting performances,

This is no WINTER'S BONE. This is a bleak tale of unappealing characters with no redeeming qualities trapped in a forlorn landscape. From a story perspective, this is about as unenjoyable and worthless as a film can be. All performances are solid, but this is a story not worth being told on screen. Apparently it's based on a novel. This was so painful I had to look up who was behind it. AVOID

The movie lacks believeable characters, lacks an interesting plot and then ends in an uninteresting way. The end did not matter really because, by then, I did not care what happened. It was very disappointing - so bad that not even Sam Rockwell could save it

All the actors do a great job in this. Sam Rockwell is great, William H Macy awesome as always. Joe Anderson does a lot with what he's given. The trashed up setting is well done. Still, the plot is somewhat unbelievable and a little dull. The characters are mostly unsympathetic. A Winter's Bone, it isn't.

I keep thinking something is going to happen meaningful but nope! I want the .99 back and the two hours of my life. It's an actors movie well acted and shot, too bad they didn't read the script all the way through before they started. The title isn't even correct?

A good premise, but not even worth the $0.99 I paid to rent it. Hated to give it even 1 star.

The movie is cast well and the acting is solid. However, the movie moves at a snails pace as it drags you through the grit and grime of backwoods existence where poor hygiene is rampant. When you do arrive at the end of the movie there is nothing rewarding or redeeming to be found. The only thing I'm left with is an urge to cleanse myself from this filth.

Dark and suspenseful. Sam Rockwell at his best. Too bad it didn't have a wider or longer release in theaters.

This sounds a lot like "no country for old men' 10 bucks is cheaper than the movies.
