Description

If you know your old-school rap history, then you know that the legendary Sugarhill Gang introduced Hip Hop to the world with the Top 40 Hit "Rapper's Delight." But the story you haven't heard is the shocking truth about how greed and betrayal led to the band's fall into obscurity. From chart-topping superstars to broke outcasts, band members Master Gee and Wonder Mike were left with almost nothing…not even their names. In their own words, this is the true and tragic story of the former original members of The Sugarhill Gang.

This is a true story that needs to be told. For years people never knew what happened to these guys, legends that just disappeared! This is a lesson of what the music industry has done to so many different artists over the years, but you can’t steal talent. These guys still have it!

Wonder Mike & Master Gee formerly of The Sugarhill Gang...What a sad story...how could such a black wealthy music family dynasty...take advantage of its black artists....and even to this day continue to deny them the right to exist...a true story for anyone having dreams and visions of making it in the music business...Music Business Class 101...is in session...a must see film.

Very good movie-basically shows how these record companies take advantage of young inner city kids who only want to make history but end up screwing them in the end. You can feel the pain that wonder Mike and Master Gee were and are still going through. Very well put together documentary. I'm sure this story has been repeated millions of times in the music industry.

The documentary pays tribute to the Birth of Hip Hop with the 1979 release of "Rappers Delight". The song created by Master Gee, Wonder Mike & Big Hank made musical history and is still the #1 selling Hip Hop Single of all times. It is a compelling truth of artist being robbed by producers however the story has a bright ending..... La La..... Ode to the Sugar hill Gang. Pay Tribute to the artist and watch the Documentary.
