Description

Harrison Ford stars in this fascinating, dark vision of the near future as a policeman who tracks engineered humans--a Blade Runner. In the year 2019, the police department forces Rick Deckard (Ford) out of retirement to hunt four genetically engineered humans who have come to earth. Designed to do difficult, hazardous work, the manufactured humans are stronger, faster and smarter than nonengineered humans. They feel no pain or remorse; they are almost indistinguishable from other humans ... and they are killing people. Now Deckard must stop them before they kill again.

It is extremely close to the original but for one obviously violent detail in gore .....when Roy murders Tyrell ....this version extends a look at Roy as he is killing him ....the version I remember was like this version but included how Roy was killing him...in this version you are led to believe that he just crushed his skull....the version I remember....Roy stuck his thumbs into Tyrell’s eyes and you actually saw the blood flowing over and around his hands. Yes I know ....gory but violently viscous ....then you see the fear in Sebastian as he tries to run away. This is undoubtedly the best version with Deckard’s narrative and no dream of a unicorn which made no logical sense. So I guess this is actually the pg-13 version lol and not an actual bloody gory R......lol ..... Still a classic and should never be touched again..... even by Scott. This version was the guideline for things to come. Happy that I own it now digitally like my original VHS ....oh but wait that has the eye gouging. Enjoy !!!!

Blade Runner has loads of fantastic cinematopgraphy that is creative and quinue. I wish more Sci-Fi moives were like this because this movie has beautiful locations and huge cites that are wonderful to look at. Blade Runner is a temptation classic with Harrison Ford's wonderful performence as Rick Deckard.
  • 1982 release - still one of my fave movies

I absolutely loved this movie when it was released. 38 yrs later and it’s still on my top fave movie list. It’s close, but I have to choose Blade Runner as my fave Harrison Ford movie, edging out Raiders of the Lost Ark. As for the movie, too bad Ridley Scott didn’t set this 100+ yrs in the future, maybe even 200 yrs - in 2182. As for Artificial Intelligence- it’s always being touted as logical thinking without the emotion. Isn’t that a Psychopath? No thanks! God gave us both a brain and a heart, and it takes both to live a happy healthy life. There’s a reason evolution hasn’t bred emotion out of us.

  • 5 stars because Blade Runner

But the final cut really is better imo. The voiceover in this version is very monotone and becomes an unnecessary exposition device later in the film, telling after showing which becomes redundant. The original ending is an eyesore, very out of place and a Deus Ex Machina. The final cut fixes some goofs as well.
  • No plot, no explanation to anything

Terrible. Boring. What was the point of anything? Why is he a blade runner? Why is it called a blade runner? Why did he fall in love with that robot he only met once? I can’t believe this has good reviews.
  • The best version by far

All the other versions are too dark, hopeless, and hopeless is boring. This is is bleak with a crack of light at the end of the tunnel. Makes it all worthwhile.
  • Please watch the Final Cut

I couldn't rate this 1 star but I almost made the mistake of buying this version instead of the Final Cut. This 'theatrical cut' is the studio taking a piece of art and making it commercialized. While this version isn't necessarily terrible, it defintiely is inferior to the Final Cut. Watch that instead!!
