A more approprate movie title would be, "The Significant Dysfunction of Josephine and Napoleon"

This is the worst film I've ever seen. How could Apple have sanctioned this over-acted, expensive, nightmare of a movie.

Ridley Scott is one of the best Directors around and always produces thought provoking films. Until this film. The weakness of Napoleon was not the sets, cinematography, music, director, or the scale of the production. The weakness was the acting. Phoenix seemed as though he was forced to be in this movie against his will. English and American actors, who are supposed to be French, speak with English and American accents??? Phoenix seemed bored with his role and tried to fake his way through every scene. The film doesn’t grab the viewer and take them on the roller coaster of the story. Napoleon seems to miss its mark in a big way.

incredible....movies like these should be sensational, but this one......horrible. the disappointment increases as the movie plods on. Turned it of after an hour.

The significance of the English fighting in that formation at Waterloo is that Napoleon himself came up with it and deployed it successfully in the very battle of the Pyramids in Egypt that they showed and yet didn’t make the connection? Insane!

With all the hype, I watched Napoleon when it came out in the movie theater. Not a great movie, but also not really that good either. The battle scenes are great, but Joaquin Phoenix acting is just horrible. He walks around like he really just doesn't want to be there and just has a stiff performance. I could think of at least 10 other actors that would have played the part better. The movie tries to stuff 20+ years in 2 1/2 hours. This is a movie you watch once, then forget about.

Aweful acting, dialog, and story telling. Did not finish the movie. Complete train wreck.
