Set in the near future, Frank, a retired cat burglar, has two grown kids who are concerned he can no longer live alone. They are tempted to place him in a nursing home until Frankā€™s son chooses a different option: against the old manā€™s wishes, he buys Frank a walking, talking humanoid robot programmed to improve his physical and mental health. What follows is an often hilarious and heartwarming story about finding friends and family in the most unexpected places. Starring an ensemble cast led by Academy Award nominee Frank Lengella (2008, Best Actor, Frost/Nixon), Academy Award Winner Susan Sarandon (1995, Best Actress, Dead Man Walking), Liv Tyler and James Marsden.

I like indie films like this. The plot was very original and moving. The acting was great and the movie had a few good twists and turns culminating in the surprising climax. I would definitely check it out and it was certainly worth my time!

This is honestly a great movie. There's added comedy to it, which makes it a whole lot better. There's some what of a story, but this movie is great overall to watch. I loved it!!

Saw this movie on an airplane after waiting almost a year for itunes to release it to rent. Just checked back in and nope, still no rental. Great movie, great story, acting, interesting take on man's relationship with machine. But find somewhere to rent it.

This movie rocks and I recommend it to everybody who loves a heart warming movie. I was skeptical at first, but it was definitely worth it.
  • Tolerable but hardly worth it

It was OK ... just OK. The ending, without saying what occurs, is most definitely not worth the wait.

I watched this film after hearing the interview of the primary actor on Fresh Air. It was a really well done film that I think will stick with me for sometime. Slow at times, but anything else pacing wise might have felt strange for the subject matter. Excellent acting by the two primaries.
