  • See you in court

See you in court Apple. I’ve been telling you for 9 years I know about the secrets you keep from users. Now it’s time you pay up sucker. You’ll be hearing from my attorney very soon.. denying me that five dollar refund for a movie that I purchased twice because your system doesn’t recognize I already purchased the movie… that’s called fraud and false advertising. See you in court Apple!
  • A gem but a bit disappointed with iTunes

This film is 10/10 stars. It conveys so much visually, Kurt delivers a solid performance even though he’s practically mute. It’s a future where they breed super soldiers via brainwashing and rigorous training. One of those soldiers is Todd (Russell). He is one of their best. Eventually, they move on to genetically modified soldiers, literally better in every aspect. Todd gets “replaced”. Long story short, he gets dumped on a planet with civilians (left for dead) and they teach him what it means to be human. Todd gets his revenge in a very satisfying manner (think Rambo style). My gripe is with iTunes. The film is clearly missing movie text in many scenes, like when they print out his current age or what war he’s currently fighting. You can hear the text but it’s not on screen. I youtubed the same scenes and saw text like the movie originally intended. I don’t know why this was left out. For someone who’s never seen this movie before, you will be lost. I highly recommend you watch this film somewhere else first because you’re technically not getting the whole movie.

A story of a man rediscovering his humanity, humanity that had been stolen from him by cowards who could never hope to measure up to what they had made him. A touching story complete with the violence that we humans inflict upon each other but, in the end, his humanity wins out. Who is more 'human,' the 'machine' he was made into or the cowards who had long ago, lost their humanity?
  • Great poker night movie.

This is not a chick flick by any means. The movie had an interesting plot and great action. Wish Kurt Russell had more lines but training to be a soldier from a kid makes sense. Recommended for sci-fi fans. A good difference from the alien series.
  • Hugely underrated

Sure the action is a little cheesy, but there is an actual story here. Solid sf and a coming of age story for an adult warrior who moves from brainwashed killer machine to human being. Enjoyable.

Good film, Still holds up, a bit short however but it’s still a good film to watch on plane rides, bus rides or if you’re bored. 1 of Paul Anderson’s good films, considering how bad he effed up The final Resident evil film... Sad thing is, Mila let him.. Guess she stopped caring. This is a rental at best but tbh and fair, Apple finally has the right idea.. it’s worth 5 bucks.. Fun to watch yet leaves you wanting more, more story, hell the subpar universal soldier got 3-4 adaptions...
  • Sci-fi action flick extraordinaire

I am also of the mind that this was one of Kurt Russell’s masterpieces. His acting in particular really drew you in. Even some of the physics inconsistencies or implausibilities did nothing to detract from enjoying this film. Add Jason Scott Lee and a very hot Connie Nielsen and this movie was out of this world. I only buy movies I know I will rewatch. This one was a no-brainer at $4.99.
  • Simple plot but big picture

The plot of this film is simple, a revenge and hero setup that puts the right people at the same time and place in the future interstellar expanse. It doesn’t say too much, but hints at bigger ideas of redemption and growth. Good action.

It is what it is--better voices than hearing Ahnold's "Get to the Choppers" schtick, and there is commpassion and empathy (eventually.) An easy movie to watch withouth having to think too hard about. Screw you Rotten Tomatoes.
