Description

Oscar® Winners Anthony Hopkins (Actor, The Silence of the Lambs, 1991) and Helen Mirren (Actress, The Queen, 2006) are spellbinding in this provocative story about the making of one of cinema’s most iconic films. Plagued by both a reckless ego and nagging self-doubt, Hollywood legend Alfred Hitchcock (Hopkins) becomes obsessed with a grisly murder story that the studios won’t back. Determined, he risks his reputation, his home and even the love of his wife Alma (Mirren), as he sets out to make the film. Ultimately, Hitch wins Alma over, and the two collaborate to create an enduring masterpiece – Psycho.

I really liked this movie. A must see for any Hitchcock fan or Psycho fans. I knew Psycho was based on Ed Gein but didn't realize it was also based on a book. Anthony Hopkins was great.

Outstanding film if you are a Hitchcock fan and and a very good movie if you are not. I missed it at the box office like too many, but I loved it on my my home cinema in HD. Incredibly gifted artists in this film Great movie
  • Hitchcock a Thrilling Film

This is an excellent film with depth, artistry and eloquence. Hopkins portrays a noble but flawed hero and Mirren a woman of substance and intelligence. Too many films wrongly depict women of this period and before as the adoring or victimized spouse (presumably the women they decide to portray themselves to the public at large) instead of the full-blooded, rich and deeply complex human beings that have, do and will continue to exist.

As much as a movie as a documentary.
  • Made for TV quality

Basically a made for TV movie that should never have been on the big screen. Great cast is wasted in a film that is all over the place. What a wasted effort.
