This film, by broadcast journalist C.J. Hunt, bypasses current dietary group-think by exploring modern dietary science, previous historical findings, ancestral native diets and the emerging field of human dietary evolution - revealing for the first time, the authentic human diet. Film audiences finally can see what our species truly needs for optimal health and are given a practical template based on scientific facts.

I was hoping for real science. Instead...conjecture and essentially an infomercial for this guy's Paleo Diet book. Short on medical, physiological, and chemistry developments that point to paleo as helpful in reducing type 2 diabetes and a host of other problems associated with high carbs and especially high-furctose corn syrup common in the Western diet. Not a documentary and certianly not science.

This great piece of work references the archeological record over the past ~2 million years to blow holes into every conventional, fad, and cult-like diet out there.

The title and accompaning photo are totally misleading. So are some of the reviews. This film might interest raging extreme diaterian or vegans but the way it is presented I wouldn't reccomend it to anyone. I am very open minded and watch a broad range of movies. This movie is garbage. I painfully worked halfway through it, backed it up a numbe of times to see what I could posibly be missing and realized I wasted money and deleted it. Don't waste yours.

The title images and overall idea were pretty cool I was excited to see what this was all about. Unfortunately although descriptive it was like watching a 5 grade science teacher talk to a class. I wouldn't rent this seems like a final project with an awkward host. I alway feel bad writing a less then stellar review for docs but this is bad.

This is a pitiful fail at trying to compete with the growing movement of plant based eating. Grains are why we are fat? Really? I guess that's why Asians were so fat before adopting a more Western diet the past couple of decades. I guess it makes sense that our ancestors feasted on far more meat when it was so much easier to come by instead of grazing on plants they just had to pick. Give me a break. Even a hunter thousands of years ago wouldn't eat meat 3x's a day and avoid grains. Grains have been a foundation in the human diet for 100,000's of years. Look up the history of grains and don't buy into this crap that will make you acidic and ketogenic.

I haven't seen it yet but at first I thought the title implies it was a pro-cannibal movie
  • total garbage

The information in this movie is biased and has no basis in true scientific fact to support what it proclaims.. It totally miscomprehends what "evolution" truly is... and simply that evolutionary processes give rise to diversity at every level being... transformation, evolving... DUH!! This movie is a joke.
  • Struggle to watch.

I love food documentaries. Give me some new knowledge and make it just slightly entertaining. This had neither. Poorly done. I struggled to watch it. I was very excited to see it, but it quickly let me down.

They had a lot of “this is bad for you” and “don’t eat this”. The science was more FUD than fact. If you watch this and accept it as doctrine, you need to do more research rather than having people with titles tell you what is right.
