Killer Elite

Great cast and interesting espionage story! To be honest, the first time I watched this movie I didn’t like it that much, mostly because I was confused about the plot. Years later after watching it again, I actually appreciate it now. When watching, you need to pay attention otherwise you’ll get lost. This is one of the best espionage action thrillers out there! Many people didn’t like this film and there’s been a lot of controversy over the book and movie. First, it’s not a typical all action Jason Statham movie. Second, this movie does a great job portraying the ongoing conflicts between the west (US and UK) and the Middle East over oil. Patriots out there will not like that top secret intelligence officials in the UK are not “the good guys,” as they typically are portrayed in other movies. There’s a lot of truth in that because the governments of these western countries essentially invaded and destroyed the Middle East over their oil. It’s all business and profit in the end. I liked that there was moral ambiguity and there is no dichotomy of “good guys” vs “bad guys.” So I think the author did a great job portraying this conflict. Overall this is a good movie. Plus it has three of my favorite actors, Owen, De Niro, and Statham. So is this straight up action movie? Not necessarily. Is it a movie made to cater to blind chauvinism? Well, no not this time. But it has plenty of action and brains! This movie definitely deserved more praise even though I can see why people got turned off by it. But I’d say give it a chance, you might like it!

I'd rather see pure fiction than "based on a true story" any day, no matter who the stars are. I just wanted to work the ranch with the girl.

Do not listen to the Rotten critics .. this is a very good movie and if you like lots of action you will really like it :)

This was a great action movie and probably one of Jason's best movies

I don't much care for Statham, love Deniro; both were great in this one. Action AND suspense AND based on a true story. Not quite as good as Ronin, but better ending. Buy it.

I was really surprised to find myself liking this movie - especially based on the critical reception and certain other opinions. The best movie to compare this to is the more recent Argo. An action/drama more interested in depicting a story than in entertaining with action scenes and car chases. While this movie puts more value in the fantastic and the action and doesn't quite walk the line as successfully as Argo it is very much worth seeing. Admittedly I am a huge Statham fan so this might be affecting my opinion. Still if you like action and spook drama this is definitely a movie worth checking out.

I enjoyed this movie, they were what they were...making a livin' by killin', no slickness-hollywood-action, just a good story about some "regular-fella's". This is not for the tweenagers, it's fer guys :)

Man, I guess I just did not get it. The movies pace was slow to put it nice, and they got their 5 seconds of frontal nudity in. All that aside, I found myself constantly looking to see how far in I was with the flick, and how much time there was left. It was not even worth the rental price. Dullsville.

Interesting plot and action is exceptional a must see

I love Jason Statham, Clive Owen, and Robert De Niro. I would watch them each read the phone book. When I saw that the three of them were in a movie together I was excited. Boy was I dissapointed. I can't say that this was a terrible movie. It just wasn't a good movie.
