Fun movie, love seeing Felicia in her element and looking forward to the sequel.

This is only 50 minutes and I would rate it PG. It looks like a TV pilot that never got picked up. The rental price is high, but it looks like this is the only way the producers make money.
  • Bad acting, shallow storyline, and miserable cinematography

Worse acting than a cheap telenovela, combined with very bad CGI effects, and very cheap production. The scenes are badly shot, actors give a very amateur impression and the dialogs sound like written by a first grader. Complete waste of money.
  • If this was a TV series I would be HOOKED!

I am a big fan of fantasy and the Dragon Age universe, and this movie just made my day! It was funny, well written, and just plain joyful! I absolutely love this movie! I wish there were more after this one, because if this was a TV series I would be HOOKED! The characters are endearing and the scenes where they are bantering back and forth are delicious! No, don't worry: I am not a cannibal who wants to eat the actors, but delicious is the only word that accurately describes the yumminess of this movie. A++ P.S- I am totally going to bust out my copy of Dragon Age: Origins and make a kick-butt female reaver, because before this movie I never really imagined how awesome the reaver class could be!
  • Unexpectedly short and immature

I suppose if I'd done a little research, I would have known; however, I did not and am disappointed. The price is very wrong for this "movie" as a buy and as a rental. Cut the price in half for the duration and cut that price in half again for the other odd qualities and lines in the story. Liked the cast. Even thought the special effects were nice, but had this been a physical product, I would return it and wait till it was priced appropriately.

I watched this with my 12 year old son, who is a Dragon Age fan also (we both play the game), and we both REALLY enjoyed the movie. Is it epic CGI like Star Wars? No. Is it a fun romp in the Dragon Age universe? YES!!!! We are "in" for a sequel!!!!
  • Not a fan.

I watched this when it was a new webseries, and I must have missed something big with all the time I spent rolling my eyes, because apparently, people think this is a quality webseries. My gripes are not with the budget, I don't trip about "cheesy" effects. What I hated was the story and acting. I've seen Felicia Day in her other works, and liked her, but this simply isn't her cup of tea. Her trying to play the cunning rogue comes out incredibly forced and almost comically bad. Her interactions with the templar, especially the flirting and such, are painful to watch. The templar is a "my whole family was killed character" out for revenge. Very unique. The young elf is a naive little dork who deserved a slap in the face. The reaver actually wasn't too bad. I won't talk too much of about the story except to say that I'm sure the average person watching this series probably could have dreamt up something better. At least something less riddled with cliches. People, take a good long look at the "viewers also bought" list. See anything good there? NO. I did not buy this or rent this on itunes, I saw it for free online. I only hope that by reading my review maybe somebody will not waste money buying or renting this.

If you are a fan of the Dragon Age games, then this movie will probably be great (5-stars). The story takes place around Kirkwall, which is where Dragon Age 2 is set. You will see some familiar locations. I think Felicia Day is a great actress and this role fits her like a glove. She really shines here. The story itself is very good and keeps you interested the whole (short) movie. They also managed to include quite a bit of lore in this movie. I learned a few things about the Chantry, the Qunari and the Templars that I had not known from playing the games. If you're not familiar with the Dragon Age universe, then this might not be such a great movie. i think some of the low ratings come from that camp.

Being one who is utterly addicted to the Dragon Age story and lore I would like something like this. I think that it was OK, but I wish they would have put more effort into it. It seemed like they probably did this in one weekend and with about $3,000. I think for a company as illustrious as BioWare, they could have invested more into this story and spent more than 50 minutes developing it. A great concept and for the most part, true to the games. But I believe this to be a very flippant representation of Dragon Age. Perhaps BioWare will give its fans something greater to grasp onto in the coming years with a movie with a greater budget and more developed plot and story. in all, a 3/5 only because I enjoyed Cairn's accent which seemed natural and a general plot that was somewhat interesting. We expect superior content from BioWare and with this movie we are left shaking our heads and talking about how good this COULD have been. This is only my reaction from the movie, yours may be different and I'd love to read it! P.S. not worth 4.99 HD rental, but I don't regret watching it. Hey, its Dragon Age!!!!
