Description

The Rat Pack's final fling finds our boys fighting a rival gang for supremacy in 1928 Chicago. Leader Frank Sinatra is surprised at his rise in respectability after he gives a large sum of money to an orphanage, earning him the nickname Robin Hood of the Windy City. Bing Crosby is a standout as the gang's elder statesman in this hip comedy-drama, which features a bevy of memorable Cahn-Van Heusen songs including "My Kind of Town." One of 1964's top boxoffice grossers!

Such an enjoyable movie! The rat pack always knew how to put on such an entertaining show. I love the music too. They don't make movies like this anymore.

I had never seen this movie before, but I had heard about it. What an absolutely fun movie! The songs definitely made the movie, otherwise it would have been a typical gangster, mob movie. The songs were incredible! I don't know which was best. They were all great. Sammy Davis Jr doing "Bang Bang" was outstanding! His talent as a singer, dancer and performer was so obvious. For pure talent, that was THE BEST song of the movie. However, "Mr. Booze" was so much fun! Having Bing Crosby, Sammy Davis Jr, Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra all in one song was a pure treat. The context of the movie when the song was being sung was great. How they changed the set in front of you and fooled the authorities was unique. Watching Dean Martin play pool with Frank Sinatra and the song he sang was great! Then, there was Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin singing and trying to get Bing Crosby in proper clothes as Bing went in and out of the closet was very funny. I found myself standing up and clapping along near the end of the song! Of course, Bing Crosby singing and dancing with all the boys in the orphanage was precious. Those boys were having so much fun! And, Frank singing "My Way" was fabulous with all the people dancing and singing around him. I miss movies like this! It is too bad that we have to go back to 1964 to watch such a fun movie!

Words cannot describe this CLASSIC movie/musical. Frank, Dean, Sammy, a whole host of Hollywood royalty are in this film. The acting and not to mention the music is SUPERB! (Sammy doing, Bang,Bang!) is a favourite. Thank you I- Tunes for making this avaiable.
