I enjoyed this movie for the actors more than the story. Some of my favorite people are in here. I'm a huge Ethan Hawke fan so it was an easy sell. But there's some inconsistency here that's hard to ignore. Jolie's character could've been a lot more interesting but she was played so reserved, it felt like her performance was phoned in. Other people committed to the story but maybe she should've passed on the project. The 'red herrings' were a little silly and it isn't the hardest mystery to crack in the first half hour. I would say that you should see this movie if you like the actors and have already seen their other work. Likewise, you may be interested to see how a thriller can rehash the same tropes without shame. It's a good study in that regard but it's all around too easy to pick through the facts and come to a conclusion. If those things above do not interest you or you're driven by a need to see original material, then you should just avoid this one. You won't be wowed by it.

This isn't as bad as rotten tomatoes πŸ… has. I watched it and was entertained and not disappointed. It's not Jolie's best, but sure not her worst. It's worth the rental πŸ‘

Not perfect, not always entertaining, but still a movie one should consider seeing.

Okay, I realize that this is not Oscar material but what do you expect, people? It's a very predictable story but a very well done predictable story. It had a few twists and turns but nothing too unexpected. It has a good cast. ethan Hawk has not done anything very good for awhile and this was the perfect role for him. He looks the part and slips into his role with great ease. Angelina Jolie also seems quite comfortable and sleek in her role. Note the nice lighting of the film and the great cinematography. It is a pretty good film to watch once in awhile when one is in the mood for a good mystery-thriller with a sexy razor blade edge. Four stars out of five for the sheer purpose of good care free entertainment.

Paul Danos opening made me hopeful for an awesome horror flick. Unfortunately, after his short part was over the movie took a most disappointing turn. The all star cast did not shine in this one. Not even the twist ending spiced things up. All out stinker Pee yew.
