Watermelon Man

A brave movie production, which crossed a lot of lines during it's debut. I was only 14 years of age when this movie was released, and not allowed to watch the movie, mainly because of the racial tension it created. Did not know about this directing pioneer named Melvin Van Peebles, in fact, for me, the Van Peebles name did not move to the front line, until his son "Mario", came out with the movie, "New Jack City". After a bit of research on Mario, and Melvin I was able to make the connection, along with one of the movies I was never allowed to view. It was a bit difficult to watch, at first, mainly because my frame of mind was set back to the "60s-70s" period. Racially heavy movie, especially the issues of "white face". But, what relaxes the issue today, was seeing the newer generation watch movies like "White Chicks, Tropic Thunder, etc.", and others, and it having very little effect on them. The best thing to do is "roll with the times". The movie was "Course...... Raw", but evolution as a society is good, yes?

Obviously "original" isn't your taste. This movie is hilarious.
