The Incredible Mr. Limpet

Apparently, many people have a high opinion of this film. After seeing it for the first time, I found it rather odd. At times down right creepy, at other times an interesting diversion. The animation is strictly saturday morning cartoon quality. Weirdly the fish has his tail section merely chopped off rather then extending into the water. I guess this saved the studio a few bucks on animation but it looks crummy. The video sample provided here has average sound, heavy grain through-out and a picture which has been enlarged with the sides cut off to fill your TV screen. I noticed many scenes where the heads of the cast were right at the top edge of the screen or had the top of their heads snipped off. Very annoying. (Sorry that Itunes (excuse me Apple TV) has gone along with the crop it no matter what crowd) Hard to believe that this is the best print the film distributor could find. I suppose this could have been as good as some say, but the presentation provided doesn't help much with relaying the reason for their enthusiasm. I've seen Don Knott’s in other rolls (like the Doris Day comedies) where he is genuinely funny, but here eveything seems strained and the story is also strained and sooo odd! To each his own, but I wish Apple would provide these films unmolested as they were made. I don’t think those film distributors have anywhere near the talent and sensabilities of the film makers.

Thanks for making this purchasable. One of my favorite movies of all time. So nostalgic.

Mr. Knotts is a great actor and I love to watch him in any of his movies or the shows he did. Not sure who is holding in so many people wanting to buy this movie. Been waiting a few years now. Come on who ever is holding out for a big pay day. Thank you for letting us buy the movie now. It only took like 10 year or so. Well, to all you Don Knotts fans. Buy the movie, so they will release more of his movies here on iTunes. How about some of Carry Grants 1940 movies?

I absolutely love this movie. When I was a kid, I really enjoyed watching this movie on TV...now I can watch it whenever... Yes...iTunes needs to make this something you can purchase instead of just renting everytime...
