Lonely, aging puppet-maker Geppetto (Academy Award-winner Martin Landau - "Ed Wood," "Crimes and Misdemeanors") carves a young boy from a tree which he once carved his love's initials near his village. When the puppet Pinocchio magically springs to life, Geppetto is thrilled to have a companion. However, their time together is unfortunately cut short when wicked showman Lorenzini steals Pinocchio away. Separated from his father, Pinocchio embarks on a wild series of misadventures that make him want to become a real boy (played by Jonathan Taylor Thomas - "Wild America," TV's "Home Improvement").
