Description

A National Lampoon anthology of three shorts spoofing everything from personal growth films to glossy soap operas to police stories. In the first story "Growing Yourself", Peter Riegert stars as a confused family man who throws his wife out of the house in order for him to "grow" a new path in life and raise his four children on his own. In "Success Wanters", Ann Dusenberry stars as Dominique Corsaire, a young college graduate, makes a vow that she succeed in life, and within a few days lands a job as a stripper, becomes the mistress to a margarine company, inherits the business when the owner croaks, romances a Greek shipping tycoon, and finally ends up with the US president. In "Municipalians", Robby Benson stars alongside Richard Widmark as a naive rookie Los Angeles policeman paired with a cynical veteran of the force to catch an inept serial killer (Christopher Lloyd).

  • Who knew a movie could be this bad?

This may have been the worst movie I've ever seen. For 99 cents, I thought, it could provide some light entertainment. I didn't even expect it to be good. I kept hoping for some redeeming value but I would have gotten a better value if I'd stopped watching within the first 10 minutes rather than sitting through the whole thing.
  • 99 Cents worth of laughs

The first part was where I laughed a total of four times. 99 Cents - Rental + 1 1/2 hours + four laughs = a huge waste! If only it was 99 cents + 20 minutes (first part) + four laughs = worth passing the time when sick. Don't tell anyone you wasted your time with this.
  • talented actors wasted on lousy script

This movie started with a somewhat entertaining skit, but the second was not as good, and the third (and longest one) should have been completely cut out. It was truly awful. It wouldn't be worth your time watching, even if it was free. A few sight gags don't make a movie, especially when interspersed with with recycled jokes told by actors who are obviously bored with what they are doing. The only reason I even finished watching it was because I don't write reviews of movies I don't finish.
  • Without a doubt the worst movie I have ever seen.

I see no way that anyone could watch this movie and think it was good. I rented it and had moderately good hopes. Near the end, I was questioning why I was watching it. Very little of it made me laugh (it's a comedy, it's supposed to be funny), and it didn't have a feel-good feeling at all, like comedies should. I downloaded this as a 99 cent movie rental of the week, and I still want my money back. Just, don't rent it or buy it. Save your money or get a different movie
