Description

Craig Sheffer, Sheryl Lee, Terence Stamp and Spalding Gray star in this audaciously honest look at sexual intimacy and emotional risk. On his wedding day, Joseph (Craig Sheffer) nervously admits that his wife (Sheryl Lee) is not quite like other women. But his beautiful bride is more than just the "impulsive, compulsive, obsessive" woman he thinks he knows. And when Joseph discovers she is hiding troubling secrets, it sends them both on a sexual odyssey that will either destroy or redeem their relationship. Erasing all boundaries between sex, love and commitment, "'Bliss' may be one of the most daring and explicit films ever made." (William Arnold, Seattle Post-Intelligencer)

This gives an interesting thought to real life problem in relationships today. Again this movie dives deep into the heart of mental and sexual dysfunctions among men and women. Great movie

This is a little treasure of a movie. From the title and the blurb you might think it's going to be a B erotica movie. It's anything but. It is a study of intimacy; how sex without intimacy can be full of lies, and how courage and trust are at the foundation of real intimacy. While quiet, the movie has surprises in character development that propel it along a powerful arc. (I do not want to give away anything.) The sexual scenes are tasteful, comfortable and essential to the storyline . And the acting is perfectly underplayed by all. It is a movie worth seeing again!

i found this movie to be quite strange. it had a good story but it was just not executed well. i thought Sheryl Lee did a really good job but other than that the movie was boring and i couldn't find a point to it. maybe i'm just too young for this movie...

Wow, I'm speechless. I really didn't expect the emotional roller coaster. Well made and sensitive, for what can be an insensitive and uncomfortable subject matter.Good job! Would recommend this movie for all couples!
  • Definitely not worth it

the movie is centralized around a very sad and depressing focal point. the theory that sex heals is interesting, but it kind of takes away from the movie when sex is the problem in the first place. it is not a typical love story, or a romance in any way really, and i didn't find it enjoyable. i'm very disappointed and would not spend $14.99 on this or any itunes movie ever again.

This is a well written and acted drama. Although the subject matter may not appeal to everyone, the performances of the leading actors, especially Sheryl Lee, is outstanding. Well worth the price of admission. I often feel movies like this have dumb endings, but in this case, I even liked the ending.

I hadn't heard about this movie before buying it, and I would not recommend it to just anyone. Instead, someone who has dealt with the emotional issues addressed in Bliss should find it full of reality-based snapshots to which you can relate perfectly. Intense, moving film.
