Description

In a land of mad scientists and diabolical inventions, what do you do when you're born with a hunch on your back? You become an Igor. A hilarious twist on the classic monster movie, "Igor" tells the story of one Igor who's sick of being a lowly lab assistant with a Yes Master's degree and dreams of becoming a scientist. When his cruel master kicks the bucket a week before the annual Evil Science Fair, Igor finally gets his chance. With the help of two of his experimental creations - Brain, a brain in a jar who's a little light on brains, and Scamper, a cynical bunny brought back from being road kill, Igor embarks on building the most evil invention of all time, a huge, ferocious monster. Unfortunately, instead of turning out evil, the monster turns out as Eva, a giant aspiring actress who wouldn't hurt a fly. Just when the load on his back can't get any heavier, Igor and his band of monstrous misfits uncover an evil plot that threatens their world. Now, they must fight to save it and prove that heroes come in all shapes and sizes.

  • Why no rude humor?

When I watched this on Netflix, I saw that there was action, language, and thematic elements. Where’s the rude humor? Is it a serious movie? Not a funny one?

The animation looks pretty impressive, but the plot that focuses on people being evil is just thoroghley ungrateful!
  • Not a Must See

Usually when I see a movie on here that has gotten a lot of bad reviews, and "rotten tomatoes" it turns out to be a rather nice little movie. Not this movie. I found myself bored very quickly. I would not recommend this to anyone. If you want to see it, rent it, do not buy.
  • Great animation throw away humor

Second time I saw this movie. The possibilities of the idea sucked me in forgetting why I was so disappointed the first time. Most other movies of this animation quality have at least as much effort put into story and dialog. Not this one. Story is ok, but the dialog falls flat. The humor is thin and throw away. My 10 year old never cracked a smile. Reminds me of the worst of Saturday Night Live or trying to imitate Mel Brooks. The worst part is that it could have been good.

My fellow critics have given this fim a hard time, and I can understand why, but there are certain things I saw in it that a lot of people didn't. It just depends on what entertains you. I critisise it for it's corny script and humour, as well as it's predictability. Also, it looks like a family film, but it's a little to dark and violent for the kids. I praise it, howwever, for it's unique style,more-inventive-than-usual plot basis, and well paced-out adventure. You go in expecting a pathetic Frankenstien spin-off and actually discover a movie that only draws some inspiration from Frankenstein( the Dr. isn't even involved in it) and comes with a story all it's own. It's also the rare film where the ending actually makes you FEEL happy, rather than just satisfied.
