Description

It's the end of yet another night at Hastings Supermarket, an idyllic family grocery store in Buck Lake, Arizona. But the normal monotony of rounding up shopping carts and settling out the cash drawers is broken at 11:07pm, just before closing when a group of masked and armed-to-the-teeth militants invades the store, immediately killing several of the employees and shoppers and holding the rest hostage. Though the hostage-takers at first appear to be robbers or terrorists, they reveal themselves to be a cadre of rogue scientists that has discovered and tracked an alien infestation to this store on this night, and they are determined to find out which of the survivors are extraterrestrials and end the invasion at any cost.

Seriously 1/3 of the way through the movie it became obvious who the “king” was. I kept hoping I was wrong, that the movie or writing would throw a stronger twist… Not a horrible movie by any means, I just think they could have been more discrete or clever in hiding who the king was.

Unique in almost every way, I saw the twist coming a mile away, but it was not any less shocking. What a nice little gem of a film. Everyone involved should be proud.

I was impressed. I look for low budget horror flicks on occasion in hopes of finding a gem that will keep me in suspense better than the garbage coming out of Main Stream Hollywood these days. Most of the time I am horribly disappointed. Not this time, I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. It didn't need famous actors or really cool special effects, the story was enough to hook me, and the acting kept me going.

One of those weak production where story line is predictable. Not worth the money. You can watch it in fast forward.

I rented this movie because of its overall rating. Wow, was I disappointed. The storyline was the same old, same old story and the plot and character development, was toilet, compared to other blood-thirsty aliens. At least in “Alien,“ and “Aliens,“ the creatures did not drive space ships. So, how did they get here? Too many holes. If you have not seen it - DON’T!!! The Aliens show no intellect, They only cause a bloody, stereo-typed mayhem. At least the Predator had a purpose that was consistently brought out. The ritual of becoming a Warrior. No answers how the infected became clean and still kept that mystical bond so they were able to peer into other's eyes and see an alien inside. Garbage film. The alien was as big as the individuals' body. So, the young blonde step daughter was able to hide it? Where? I am tired of Zombie, Vampire, and C-class Sci-Fi movies. Give me a Star Trek or Broadcast "Fringe" anytime. What a waste!!! Rotten Tomatoes for sure. Walter D. Wright

This movie is not trash. This movie has a very cool environment which makes movies unique. It takes place in a supermarket and people are stuck inside. Then some people come to rescue the people from the alien raiders. If I were to see this again, i would which is why i'm giving this four stars. The reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is because the movie was good, not great. The ending was shocking and that is why I was disappointed. But overall, the movie is incredibly cool.

It's not what I'd expected. If you have seen all the alien movies, don't go for it. You will think it's a high school production...
  • Not great.

The dialogue is bad and acting is subpar, the plot is thin and the twist at the end is predictable. I've seen better and more coherent episodes of the Outer Limits - in fact most episodes are both (and some of those are really mediocre, only tolerable by comparison). I like some of the other work done by these actors, but the lead is clearly just playing Tony Alameda with aliens instead of Jack Bauer. Overall, this feels like a student production, not because of the low budget, but because of the acting and dialogue. Do not pay extra money to see this movie unless you really have no better use for money.
  • Cool Flick worth watching
