Description

Based on Christopher Buckley's acclaimed 1994 novel of the same title and adapted for the screen by Jason Reitman, Thank You for Smoking is a fiercely satirical look at today's culture of spin! Aaron Eckhart stars as Nick Naylor, a sexy, charismatic spin-doctor for Big Tobacco who'll fight to protect America's right to smoke - even if it kills him. When he incurs the wrath of a senator (William H. Macy) bent on snuffing out cigarettes, Nick's powers of "filtering the truth" will be put to the test. With a smokin' all-star cast that includes Rob Lowe, Maria Bello, Katie Holmes, Adam Brody and Robert Duvall, this hilarious comedy will prove seriously addictive!

This movie puts a humorful twist on a not so funny subject.

This movie has some funny lines, but--as a whole--it lacks drama (there is no real conflict). Dull.

This movie is incredibly funny. I laugh every time I see it. Aaron Eckhart was born for this role, he plays it so well. The stellar cast is incredible throughout the entire film. If you buy this movie, you will not tregret it.

If you don't mind some crude language and a few sex scenes, "Thank You for Smoking" is a positively hilarious, delightful film.

As with most movies the book is so much better. But that being said, this was a really satisfying adaptation. Eckhart is totally underrated as an actor (see the Dark Knight) and is excellent in this role. A really good movie worth the price of rental or purchase.

Dry humored, and empty-souled, the protagonist is almost as good as Gordon Gecko at morally justifying anything at all. Very clever-clever.

This movie is very, very good, but not quite as great as Juno and Up in the Air.
