Description

Get ready to rock out with the most entertaining "golden oldies" you will ever meet, a fun-loving senior citizen's choir called Young@Heart. To prepare for a show in their hometown that is only weeks away, the lovable seniors must learn a slate of new songs, ranging from James Brown to Coldplay. The chorus' tireless musical director leads the group through a series of hilariously chaotic rehearsals, proving that hard rock can be hard work - especially when you're hard of hearing! Their inspiring story celebrates the unbreakable bonds of friendship and the life-affirming power of music!

This movie showed the reality of senoir citizens and how they feel. And they still feel young at heart. This movie shows if you love what you do youll keep fighting to it to the very end. The tragedy the comedy the music and the people make this movie worth watching!

This is so much more than a documentary and so much more meaningful than ANYTHING on "reality televsion." This is life captured at glorious close up. This is one of the most life-affirming and moving films that I have ever seen (and I've seen a few!). The music is exceptional and these people absolutely capture your heart. It's wonderful to see the elderly being treated honestly and with so much care. PLEASE SEE THIS MOVIE - it will brighten your day and could change your life!

Hands down, this is the BEST movie I've ever seen. When the substitute teacher first put this movie on in my high school chorus class, all my friends and I thought that it was just going to be another boring, time-wasting movie. That opinion totally changed after the opening credits ended. For the next two class periods, my whole class (21 VERY hard-to-please teenage girls) laughed and cried through the story of the coolest grandparents we've ever seen. By the time the movie ended, we were all out of tears from laughing and crying so hard. We left the classroom that day with a totally new outlook on seniors, music, and life in general. This movie taught me that age is only relative- if you have a passion as strong as these seniors' love for singing, you should keep at it as long as you can. Watch this movie- you won't be disappointed.
  • An absolute gem of a movie!!

All I can say is that this is one of the most heart warming movies I have seen in a long time. I have a whole new respect for the Senior Citizens in my life! This is a must see movie for all ages. The scene where the Y@H sang for the inmates at the Prison was truly magical. Some of the most hardened criminals featured were brought to tears and overcome with joy by the performance of this cherished group of singers!
  • Simply a terrific story

This is an absolutely phenomenal movie about an amazing group of people. At the risk of sounding over-dramatic, this movie may even restore at least a little bit of faith in humanity to even the most bitter of people. It's a tear-jerker but ultimately in an uplifting way. I can't recommend this enough to everyone...and I really mean everyone

It seems like it's sacrilege to not like this film, but I don't. The filmmaker couldn't get out of his own way and let story happen. What was the point of those ridiculous music videos? It was exploitive and shallow. The story of these people, left alone, was dramatic and sad and funny and any other adjective you could think of and was continually interrupted by the filmmaker's mostly dishonest pretensions. What a shame too. He couldn't have had better material or more natural performers.
  • Truly Amazing

My 79 year old mother and I watched this on Christmas night. We could not have received a better gift! The version of "Fix You' is far better than Coldplay.....honestly.
