Description

It’s New Year’s Eve in the city of Terminus and chaos is this year’s resolution. All forms of communication have been jammed by an enigmatic transmission that preys on fear and desire driving everyone in the city to murder and madness. In a place once marked by conformity but now sent into complete anarchy, the rebellious Ben must save the woman he loves from the bedlam in the streets as well as her crazed sadistic husband. But the only way he can tell who to trust or who has given in to violence is by uncovering the true nature of The Signal. Told in three parts from three unique perspectives by three visionary directors, The Signal was originally conceived as an experimental film project called Exquisite Corpse where one filmmaker would begin a story then hand it off to another filmmaker to continue and then to another and so on until the movie was complete. The story eventually took shape and evolved into a sci-fi/ horror/thriller that imagines a world where everyday anxieties become the catalyst for inhuman terror. The Signal is a horrific journey towards discovering that the most brutal monster might actually be within all of us.

This started off interesting, then midway I realized that the shift in tone was due to 3 directors sharing the movie. Nice try but not that good. The first segment was strong and it plummeted after. 4 stars? It must be family and friends voting...appreciated, but it throws the real rating off.

This movie has always stuck in my mind because they took their own idea very serious. The signal is something that makes people crazy, but the different personalities in the world give crazy a unique face and personality. So in the first bit the people who become crazy with violence. Then the people That just get lost in irationality take the stand. This movie has several emotions it puts down very well though- I would suggest watching it alone and letting yourself really get into it.

Just awful...no redeeming value whatsoever...tried to be a horror, with black comedy in the middle (new years eve party????) Fargo - good black comedy. This unconscionably bad attempt? Not so much......What a steaming pile of just the worst crap you have ever come across. No stars...zero...can't even give it a half star. Poor try at a Tarantino movie. Bad acting, bad concept, bad nonsensical plot, no explanation of The Signal doing this to people, except turning the TV on or listening via a cell phone. Couldn't delete it off my Ipod fast enough. Failure at trying the artsy horror genre...Utter failure.

This movie is amazing! The first part is scary and suspenseful, and the second part is absolutely hilarious in a dark and twisted sort of way. The final third of the film is utterly heart-wrenching and the conclusion is unexpected and deep. Brilliant.

this movie...i don't even know what to say...it was super gory which i'm totally ok with, and it was actually pretty funny. i don't think funny is what they were going for, but i laughed a lot. the music they were playing in some parts, you just couldn't help but laugh! i rented this because i was bored and i didn't expect it to be that enjoyable but it really was! the end was kind of crazy. this movie is so twisted and funny and crazy and gory and exciting and everything all in one! i'm glad i rented it. not something i would buy but for sure a good rent...if you're bored lol.

Might not be the best flick out there, but it is engaging, and laugh-out-loud funny (in a good way) at times. If you're expecting "28 Days Later" or something similar, don't bother. This film is a fresh take for an open-minded audience.

This movie was odd! Kept getting lost on what was happening. The beginning started off good, but got horrible as it progressed.

I read the reviews and was interested in the concept of the movie. Unfortunately, poor acting, and lame story. Not worth the rent.
