This marvelous movie would be better served by a truly HD print. This film was shot in the Todd-AO 70 mm process, and should have very crisp detail. Instead, this print looks not much better than a DVD quality version. This is a film that can be enjoyed for many viewings, and so should have a video version to reveal the full glory of its picture. I cannot recommend the film itself too highly. I only hope we will be able to see it better in the future.

This is a great movie that the whole family can enjoy. It is a visual geography lesson that starts in Europe. And than continues in Asia. And than to America. And again in Europe. There are subtle hints of comedy especially when Foggs valet Passepartout tries to outrun a bull. And when they rescue the Indian Princess Aouda from being burned alive. Interwoven within every scene is the lilting music of the late Victor Young I'd give this movie a rating of ten stars 5,for brilliant acting.and 5 for the lush musical score.Signed lover of traveling .

Omg! I love this movie!!! I've seen it at least 10 times and still love it! They don't make movies like this anymore: shows you don't need fancy special effects to have a great movie.... Along with Ben-Hur, this belongs in a time capsule!

It's a fun ride going around the world in 80 days, but flat performances, dreaful screenwriting, and pathetic direction beg to differ. Do not buy this film.

I saw this as a 7 year old and have remembered it since then. I've seen it a couple of times since and am still in love with the romance of a helter-skelter race around the world. David Niven and his old fashioned British pomp, these are all actors who are so natural and smooth that you can let your guard down and enjoy the movie without the feeling there is a horrible twist around the corner. This movie was made when the whole frame was in focus not just the central characters, everybody and everything is clear, the scenery and props are real, It's just like you are there in the crowd watching. The music is fitting for the light hearted theme. Cantinfloss is the latin equivalent of a Marx brother. I recommend this movie as a family movie that will give children a real view of foreign countries, not the danger but the real beauty and grandeur of their past.
