Description

Chaos Theory is a heartwarming comedy about family, friends, and finding order in a world of complete disorder. Frank Allen (Ryan Reynolds) is a man known for playing it safe. Every choice he makes is deliberate––designed to contribute to a well-ordered, predictable life. But life, as he learns, does not always adhere to a schedule. Frank’s regimented existence begins to unravel when a stunning family revelation forces him to re-examine the concept of fate. Shaken to his core, Frank throws caution to the wind and decides to break all the rules and conventions that have defined him. Frank is about to discover that not even an efficiency expert armed with timetables and index cards can change the serendipitous nature of family and friendship, love and forgiveness.

The rotten tomato reviews seem to come from people who have not watched the movie at all. It is equal parts sad and goofy, with depth and brevity.

Stay away from this godawful film! It is boring, slow, has poor dialog and acting, etc. I really don't know how Ryan Reynolds is still an actor when everything he touches is film garbage.
  • Good, but depressing

I thought this was a comedy, but turned out to be really sad and pathetic.

The movie's clearly won't earn a Oscar nomination, I'd be surprised myself if it did. But that movie is terrific. I like the story. Already watched it more than once and haven't gotten bored with it.

Normally I think Reynolds is over hyped but this film did not disappoint, it was funny, heart warming, and unexpected. I really wish it would of hit theaters it would of made so much more money. Overall a great indie film I'd recommend it highly!

I was actually surprised by how much I liked this movie. I was super cautious about renting it in the 1st place bc I saw the critic's reveiw was so terrible, but from most customer reviews, it was a good. I was still doubtful because I'm usually the worst critic of movies that I know, but this was really good. I want to say it's probably Ryan Reynolds cutest and most lovable film so far, meaning his character, but considering the synopsis of the movie, "cute" may not be an appropriate term...so I'll say this, the storyline itself may be a little depressing/ unlucky, but the mood is humorous. Reynolds is still as funny- That may just be me, I've always enjoyed his style. Anyway, great movie, in summary, I'll probably be watching it again xD Two Best Scenes Ever: Frank: "Nothing happened!" Susan: "How can you call a baby nothing?!" -"What baby?" -"The baby at the hospital!" -"Oh! THAT baby." Buddy: "There! Go ahead and commit suicide now!" Frank: "You think I was trying to commit suicide?...You impossibly stupid man! You philandering, dumba...Murder! I was trying to commit murder! You idiot!"

this was a great movie, and the ending was very heart warming (spoiler alert) even though it turns out his daughter was not his, he ends up showing that he can lover her like she is his own.
