We all have our aspirations and quirks. Digging our heels is not making easy for anyone. This movie is uplifting and full of positivity. Amazing performance by all actors. Toy boat in the pool is more fun if we engage and control it, not to mention familiar toes we all remember how we loved to play with.

Absolutely amazing! So true to life. All the players in the film deliver stellar performances, Christian Bale, Fances McDormand, Kate Beckinsaoe, Alessandro Novello, Natasha Mcelhone are all incredible, in this film! One of my absolute favorite movies of all time. Even the soundtrack is fantastic.

I saw this movie for the first time last night. I'm a little behind here, so bear with me. I really liked this movie. The best part is to see an actor/actress change, grow, blossom. To take a character and become them. Not all movie stars can do it. Nicolas Cage, Mathew McConaughey, Jack Nicholson, to name just a few. Musicians are the same. I love seeing them get lost playing their instruments or singing. I call it amazing talent. I can't fathom one star and your comment was surely ignored by many.

This is a great movie, the actors in this flim did a superb job. I am a huge Christian Bale fan and he always seems to be amazing in all the films he is in. He is not a one dimensional actor like a majority of the actors now a days. I highly reccomend this film you will be delighted!

When I didn't fully understand what it meant. As I've matured I find myself going back to it, understanding it to the fullest level my latest stage of maturity will allow. I always see something new, feel something new, hear something new. It's an amazing film about people and how they relate to one another and how it changes. Love it.

  • Not as bad as come would say

This film was certainly not as bad as avantmom suggests by her review. I would have liked to have heard what in particular she disliked about the movie. It couldn't have been the production values, and I'm thinking it must have been the portrayal of certain lifestyles and the exploration of themes that turned her off. I would have thought that anyone who disliked a movie would back up their dislike with concrete and specific details. Although I didn't agree with the life choices some of these people had made and I wouldn't want to live the sort of life portrayed in the film, I recognize it as a smart movie that presents the universal problem of how one deals with one's origins and becomes their own person. The script is smart, the acting is well-executed, and the film has something to say. It's worth the rental if anything.
  • Irretrievable time wasted

This movie will go down in my extensive, eclectic film-viewing history as one of, if not THE, worst movie I've ever seen. I still regret the time wasted watching this that I can never retrieve!! I'm actually mad I saw it! I am a Frances Mc Dormand fan and, sadly, it has tainted my view of her. Please, please , please move on. Almost anything will be better. Promise.

A film that is both comedic yet something that definately makes you question where you are at in life. Christian Bale and Kate Beckinsale both give passionate, truthful representations of two people trying to figure out themselves and their relationship, whilst Frances McDormand leads the cast with a wonderful and hilarious performance. The film is guided by an ingenious soundtrack and the scripting is edgy but beautiful. Enjoy.
