Whispers, an innocent and adorable baby elephant who's just learning to walk on his own four feet, finds himself separated from his loving mother, Gentle Heart. In his desperate search to find her, he meets the cynical loner Groove, an outcast from her own herd who never wanted to be a mother. Together, this unlikely pair braves danger after danger on their incredible journey to find water and Whispers's mother. • Not for the 2 year old crowd

I bought this movie to entertain my 2 year old on a long car trip, but soon regretted it. This movie is probably fine for older children, but is NOT appropriate for the very young. While the live-animal action is very appealing in the descriptions, especially to those facinated by trips to the zoo, the tribulations faced by Whispers quickly become too scary. I was particularly bothered by the sequence where the first adult Whispers encounters after becoming lost tells the scared baby to "get lost" and figure it out on his own. That is not a message I want to send to my 2 year old. I was also disappointed in the variety of animals Whispers meets. It was monotonous, and my child soon was too bored and overwhelmed with conflict to bother watching the movie.

Sorry any of you guys who have actually watched this and liked it, but it looks dumb. It looks like Disney got desperate for a few bucks so they took one of their elephants, let it wander around, filmed it wandering, gave the animals all cutsie voices, and packaged it and gave it to you to swallow and show to your babies. Show your babies something GOOD, like "Ratatouille", or any other Pixar film. 2001 was a very low period in terms of Disney movies anyway. I'm not touching it, and Questionable Dollar knows best. Move along and don't bother with this one, folks.
