The movie is ok the only problem I have with most of these Hollywood disaster movies is where are the Latinos it’s like we don’t even exist. They throw in a few token black people I guess for they won’t complain but us Latinos... All we are are stereo types like gang members or gardeners and the women are sluty or prostitutes. Come on Hollywood you can do better that that.

The best 1950's sci fi not made in the 1950's. Whoever wrote the iTunes movie description should actually watch the movie. The earth does not stop spinning.
  • So much potential... Just not that great!

This movie starts out as a pretty solid movie; then it all goes south from there. I don't believe the writers or the director knew what movie they were making! The science, the directing, the writing, and the dialogue were all awful; the only thing redeemable about it was the acting... This is coming from a filmmaker.

Thoroughly entertaining. For those who complain it’s not realistic, the fi in sci-fi standsfor fiction, so please suspend disbelief and enjoy it for what it is.

Saw it first two years ago and got hooked almost like a star trek meets current era (Nokia + gum rapper = free long distance calls forever and the phone never breaks)

If you are looking for a scientifically accurate movie this is not it. This is hilarious though. I think I found it do funny do to the scientific inaccuracies. Plus it's non stop ridiculousness. Rent if not buy it. It's terribly awesome.

This would make my top 25 favorite movies. It is very scientific and I love the intellect and the character development. So it is not plausible... they sure make it seem like it could be. I'm a sucker for good dialogue, good characters and smart feel good movies. This, in my mind fits all mentioned. It is also clever and witty. Yes some characters we like die but it is done well and the end is happy but not dumb. I've watched this three times already... If you want an interesting enjoyable ride buy this; it is worth it...but if you a picky person about having the science correct …then don’t buy it.

This movie is very predictable and essentially a flop and/or a misdirection of great potential. It is a dis-jointed collection, of some other science fiction movies, mixed with dull or stunted method-acting. It moves too slow; the script was very wooden; the characters were stereotypical--and, the actors seemed to be bored-to-death with their roles...but regardless of that, they were still getting paid. Additionally, the special-effects were not believable. Hence, "The Core," to me, was very disappointing; but, maybe it would be O.K. to watch--if a person was half-asleep or emotionally numb.
