Under the big blue skies and intense sun of the California desert, 17 year old Salvador spends his days riding his bike through the dusty streets of Indio, painting pop-art murals on the walls of a freeway underpass, and dreaming of a life away from his dead-end town. When a budding romance falls apart, and a scholarship to USC gets yanked out from under him, Salvi hits the mean streets of Palm Springs with an enterprising drug dealer and gets swept into an incendiary weekend of partying, gun violence and sexual ambiguity. After witnessing some senseless gun violence, Salvador must fight for the life he wants by pushing back against the limits of his world and head out toward a new future.
