Beetlejuice is back! After an unexpected family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return home to Winter River. Still haunted by Beetlejuice, Lydia's life is turned upside down when her rebellious teenage daughter, Astrid, discovers the mysterious model of the town in the attic and the portal to the Afterlife is accidentally opened. With trouble brewing in both realms, it's only a matter of time until someone says Beetlejuice's name three times and the mischievous demon returns to unleash his very own brand of mayhem.

ADAM MAITLAND: What are your qualifications? ME: Well, let's see. I did not got to Julliard. I did not major in business management or accounting, though sometimes, I wish I did. The latter that is. I missed the teaser trailer to THE FLINTSTONES (1994) because I missed JURASSIC PARK'S (1993) opening week. I slept through all of the boy bands' concerts, I survived the cinematic carnage that is the new STAR WARS, and I have seen this sorry, desperate legacy trasH about a HUNDRED SIXTY-SEVEN TIMES! Okay! Only one! AND IT KEEPS GETTING "FUNNIER." EVERY SINGLE TIME I SEE IT! Not to mention the fact that you're talking to a LIVING guy!!! NOW WHAT DO YOU THINK??! Do I qualify? No? Well, then, HOME! HOME! HOME!
  • YOU BUNCH OF LOSERS!!!

Well, I have seen this overdue (and unnecessary) sequel, with hopes that it would be worth the watch. And be a MAJOR improvement over the tasteless, dragsville, trauma-stained, politics-crippled garbage we [the audience] have gotten in the last 20-plus years. And...I CAN'T SAY I'M PROUD OF IT. The folks in front and behind really did it this time. GOOD THING: They let Beetlejuice (Michael Keaton) out and back into the cinematic fray. BAD THING: He was NOT given much to go on or for, except a useless ex-girlfirend, Dolores (Monica Bellucci), who is an eater of her fellow dead???? GOOD THING: Lydia Deetz (Winona Ryder) is back too. BAD THING: She has been reduced to, if not POSSESSED by, a spitting behavorial and attitudinal image of her sorry, sobby, stocky twin from "STRANGER THINGS". LESSER SAGE!!! WORSE THING(S): Another deadpan, smart-alec, rangeless kid takes and bungles the 'narrative transport' core: Astrid (Jenna Ortega). She would and could be better off as one half of the dynamic duo in a belated but brilliant pilot to the 1988 OG's animated counterpart. BJ being the other [crucial] half. But I digress. Plus, Delia Deetz (Catherine O'Hara) being extra-strength careless and delusional, AND, with prior knowledge of the Beetleman's previous poltergeist of a performance??? Furthermore, if you're going to bring back the original piece's director, BRING BACK THE OG PRODUCERS AND AUTHORS, TOO!!! And make sure they know how to do new without being absolutely disloyal to the old. Otherwise, NEVER TRUST THE LIVING!!! OF TODAY!!! We can't let folks who lived the Golden Moviegoing Days know there's [worse] existence beyond creativity's "death". Now go clean house. And DON'T forget the texts from film theory/history, and the DANG HANDBOOK. Bad enough Otho, and now Astrid, got it! OR...in my odious former assistant's words: YOU BUNCH OF LOSERS!!! NICE FLIPPIN' MODEL! [Honk-Honk]

Movie is alright, entertaining at parts but the story is kind of all over the place. Honestly if you just enjoy it for what it is and appreciate the effects and cool sets you’ll have a pretty good time with it. It’s more gory and funny than I expected but isn’t even close to being as good as the first which is fine.
  • Beetlejuice? Yeah, from a blender.

I have no idea how this got such good reviews... it's so disjointed and horribly written. Not to mention the ridiculous things in it... the "soul train", really? The 70's would like that back since it obviously died back then, thank god. The whole movie is a cringe fest of "what's going to happen next?" since there's no flow to it and the whole thing is a random mess. If you're looking for a coherent story that follows the first plotline... this isn't it.

This is kinda inappropriate for kids but it’s so funny. Don’t let your kids watch this until they’re fourteen!

I saw this in theaters with my girl. I gave it a solid 7. But once it came out I bought it and watched it a few more times and it’s really a great movie. I don’t know about better than the original, but only slightly below. A wonderful homage to all the characters. This movie will be a classic one day 💪🏽💪🏽
