The girls did a great job! I went in not comparing it to the original Exorcist because that is a classic. I didn’t expect to like it as much as I did. I leaned to ignore reviews with horror movies because some see way to picky

I thought the movie had a strong beginning. However, the movie pivots and loses its traction near the moment Ellen Burstyn is introducted into the story. It's as if a different director, writer, camera crew, and visual fxs team took over. Disappointing.

How has this not gotten better reviews? Leslie Odom Jr is incredible in everything he does, including this movie. It’s the first horror movie that’s been able to hold my attention in a long time.
  • WORST film ever!

This was a total flop. Only part that's any good is the very last 3 minutes.
  • Scary

It wasn’t as scary as the first one but it was scary. I love horror movies but the ones that involve the devil really freaks me out. I wouldn’t let kids see it unless they want to get nightmares and if they are use to horror movies.
  • Not that bad

This is definitely not as bad as reviews are making it out to be. They really did not have to bring back original characters for a couple minutes of screen time. They did not add anything to the story. This could have been its own story entirely.
  • I LOVE THIS MOVIE

I watched this movie before but it’s so scary and good if you would like to see it go to amc or Cinemark
  • A distant, derivative and blandly modern take on the original.

The Exorcist was a nearly perfect movie, evoking a horribly believable take on the supernatural so effective it genuinely shocked audiences. To this day it remains so effective it’s uncomfortable to watch. This watery, predictable and paint by numbers sequel gives us modern horror tropes that the original nightmarish film established while banking on the reputation of the original, failing to evoke any of the subversive vision of The Exorcist in the process. Watch CSI instead, it has more substance.
