  • A Sleeper Hit!

I was hoping and praying this movie would be good, I hoped there wouldn't be any woke stuff in it and I hoped it would succeed at the box office in order to save Disney and Pixar! And I think my prayers have been answered a bit. Elemental is definitely a vast improvement to Lightyear with a more compelling story and better characters. Unlike Alisha Hawthorn's relationship with Kiko (Even that name makes me cringe!) in Lightyear the part with Wade's sister Lake and her "girlfriend" Ghibli was only brief enough to go over kids' heads as far as I remember. I still hope Disney learns to never add LGBTQ+ characters in their movies at all in the future. Anyway this was a good movie in general and it's directed by Peter Sohn the voice of the only good part in Lightyear Sox! If there's one thing I learned from the movie Ruby Gillman: Teenage Kraken, one star reviews won't matter! I used to think the Super Mario Bros. Movie was good, but I didn't think it was good enough to be a major commercial success to almost humiliating Disney since Disney still means a lot to me to this day! Now, I hate the Super Mario Bros. Movie!!!!

I can’t believe all the negative reviews. My seven year old loved the movie, it was a lot better than I was expecting. It’s currently her favorite movie, we’ve watched it multiple times.

This is the most well written love story I have ever seen. It is so beautiful, yet feels so real. The best part is it is entirely love and no lust. I never cry, ever. I think I might have cried to this film more than I have in my entire life. I never ever thought I could love a romance film this much. Thank you Pixar.

I watched this with my family and it was entertaining, cute, had a good message, and was something we all enjoyed. The animation was clever and overall beautiful. The storyline was cute and had a good message behind it. I highly recommend this movie.

I skipped the movie originally, thinking it would be like “Inside Out” which I found to be juvenile… I was so wrong! “Elemental” is not only visually stunning, but hit me right in the gut - about family love, coming of age / discovering who you are, trusting in yourself enough to love romantically, and so much more. The voice actors did amazing work (so nice not having A-list celebrities!) and Peter Sohn, you have my biggest thanks for putting forth work that makes me feel all the feels. And the score! The score is beautiful and worthy of being your library! I’m sad this film didn’t get more marketing and promotion. It is a gem.
  • My New Favorite Movie

This movie is much deeper than what meets the eye. It touches on being an immigrant, understanding and accepting difficult emotions, and loving someone for exactly who they are not what you want them to be. The reviewers who hate this movie obviously missed the message. I suspect these people also didn’t like the LGBTG+ representation and the obvious privilege that one of the characters has. But that is the whole point of the movie! Accepting others for who they are because it’s 2023 and there’s no room for prejudice anymore. Ember learns how to be honest and follow her dreams because Wade saw and accepted her for who she is. This movie is incredible. The attention to detail, the artistry, the storyline. It’s one of my favorite movies of all time. Thank you Pixar 💜

We didn’t really care for it, couldn’t even finish it. The main “guy” kept crying and was a bit annoying.
