  • Not Uplifting for the 60+ Audience

The acting was fine, but without many scene changes, it was dull to watch. The story used an old & tired literary device, flashbacks. It had a predictable plot, the pop culture prop (a cat) and used homecooked food to bridge a relationship between a lonely older man, and his warm, exuberant new neighbors across the street. Some crossovers messaging was tacked on, but no one got far from the street on which it was filmed. For the recently bereaved, it is not a good choice. Like the winter, it was gray and dull.

Everyone stop being so critical about this movie it’s fiction! Could it have been thought out better? Sure! I thought it was easy to follow! Well acted and sad ending! I like Tom hanks!

I enjoyed this film and saw it several times, leading up to awards. Tom Hanks plays a great older guy with nothing to live for/angry at the world character. Otto finds that his life can still have meaning and that you being in the world matters. This is not a political film and not sure why people insist on making it one, but whatever.

Absolutely atrocious. I think this is finally the one that has me officially over Tom Hanks. I was tired before, now I’m done.

This review section makes me sick to my stomach. This has got to be the most powerful Tom Hanks movie in a long time. I’d put it up there with Forest Gump. Do not let all the depressed, self loving, MAGA Trump supporters in this review section fool you. Watch this film, I guarantee you will love it.

Wasn’t expecting much, but ended up thoroughly enjoying this “heart tugger”. Anyone saying this movie is “woke” is an absolute idiot and hate filled 🤡who doesn’t understand that the world has changed.
