The visuals were definitely intense and very interesting. There is no story line. It’s one long Tool music video. Don’t waste your time and definitely don’t spend money on this.
  • Great visuals, stinky story

While I do really recommend this movie and think that the artistic merit of the visuals and creativity of Phil Tippets world deserve all the praise in the world, I am kinda dissapointed that the story and characters of the film are bland, hard to understand, and a bit aimless. But, as stated before, the technical aspects of this film are completely out of this world and worth the price of admission.
  • A 30 year journey making this

Phil Tippett took thirty years making this. It’s not for everyone. Especially kids. It’s a combo of horror/fantasy/science fiction. The visuals are very creative. Including the horrific. It’s surreal. Up to each individual who sees it to depict what this means.
  • Rewarding, hard watch

You won’t “enjoy” this movie. It’s bleak visuals and nihilistic themes compete for your attention until you just can’t anymore. I couldn’t do it in one sitting. But the artistry and passion for detail on display are jaw dropping. It’s less like a feature film, and more like a full-length art installation. If you’ve read anything about it and are even a little interested, check it out. If you’re looking for a deep plot, or even dialog, watch something else.

I loved this movie but I can see how others might not enjoy it as much. There is a narrative but there is no dialogue. Character’s motivations and conclusions are heavily left up to interpretation. The stop motion visuals were terrifying. I couldn’t take my eyes off the screen, but if you enjoy a more straightforward story this might not be for you.
  • Tedious garbage

I love horror and I love stop-motion animation. I was so excited for this film, but was left disappointed, and I cannot fathom why people give it such rave reviews. This movie is incoherent, mixes live action and stop motion throughout, which makes it seemed muddled and inconsistent. It has no point…but so much potential. In the end it’s a heap of garbage that didn’t really even try.

Though the storyline is vague -the visuals and angles make Mad God riveting. I couldn't stop thinking about the film,. The next day I did some google research, and I also had a friend watch the film so we could discuss it. I can't recall the last time this happened. You probably know it's not for the overly sensitive, that said, I think Mad Dog is a visual masterpiece.
