Men

The movie is really good with a very unexpected plot twist. This is an Arts films with horror elements that also gives a social criticism of what Women go through with Men. It was brilliantly told and NO there is nothing Woke about it. It made perfect sense in the scheme of things. Definitely watch it if you are into horror and philosophical thriller.

Haven’t seen one A24 film that succeeds in telling a compelling story. All show, no substance.

The movie is interesting, to say the least …but at the end it felt as if a lot of background information was just left our…why is it called men? What the heck was the rebirthing sequence until the Ex appeared???

I love the directors other stuff and I love when movies have underlying meaning and stuff like that but this just plain didn’t make any sense whatsoever. At first I thought it was all about the main characters guilt but then (and due to the title) you start to think it has to do with her trauma from men (namely her husband) but it really just goes off the wall and has absolutely nothing to do with anything and goes more into Midsommer craziness territory for some reason even though that has absolutely nothing to do with the story. Glad I rented first instead of day one buying like I almost did due to the director because it would have been an instant refund for me

Super Ridiculous! I want my money back!

This feels more like an art installation than a movie. I feel like the message is pretty obvious in the end.

“This is a sick world we are living in with sick people.”

It’s more than “men bad” or “woke” if that’s the surface level lens you take to things then you’re pathetic. The craft is so spectacular without a single jump scare, the imagery and symbols of the green man/men is really tapping into something primordial and human that we like to ignore. The score is amazing as well, I love how atmospheric it is! And the acting, my god! There is a scene where Jesse Buckley is simply smiling under a tree in the rain and it’s so radiant! And I love the final act, I know for some it’s too much, but this is the only film this year that did something creatively bold and got me to think about the film long after I’d seen it. Ignore anyone who has nothing but negative thoughts about it, the film is brilliant.
