I was blessed to come across this film. It made me laugh, cry and think. This is an exceptionally meaningful film that is heartfelt and depicts a daughter’s true love for her mother. Lili Taylor did a remarkable job and deserves every accolade for her performance. This movie was an experience worth having and I look forward to seeing it again.

The film surprises in all the best ways and handles an otherwise sensitive topic authentically. Acting, writing, directing were all top notch. Highly recommend!

Every once in a while a movie comes along that pulls at your heartstrings. For me that is this movie. It’s a very nicely balanced story that has heartfelt intense drama yet also humor and whip smart dialogue. I love that it’s a gripping personal narrative too. Hopefully this will create more awareness of mental illness. Definitely recommend watching.

This is a riveting film with knockout performances. Lili Taylor and Setafnia Owen (who I never knew before) are exceptional in the roles of mother and daughter. This is probably Lili Taylor’s best work yet. The story is beautifully crafted and the mother’s illness is depicted in a way that is realistic and incredibly honest.

So glad I watched this movie. I didn’t know what I was in for. It is not only filmed beautifully with realism but the story resonates long after it’s over. Lili Taylor is Oscar worthy and hopefully she will be recognized for her work here.

Lili Taylor shines in this film. She deserves to be nominated for her role and a mother whose paranoid delusions threaten her loving relationship with her daughter. The teenage daughter is trying to have a “normal” (pre-covid) high school experience and her mother’s mental illness looms large over the teen’s coming of age experiences. Highly recommended.

Three days after watching this in the theater, I keep thinking about it. The story is so compelling and the acting is exceptional. It’s not easy to make me cry in a movie so if I do I know the movie did something special. Super impressed by this slice of life indie.

I heard about this project last year being a film buff and this film is already getting some serious buzz so that made me even more eager to see it. Wow! what a well made movie on such an important and under discussed topic. I would like to see this film at least nominated for an Academy Award.

I had the pleasure of seeing this film on opening night, and haven't forgotten it since. It's based on a true story that captures a kind of mother-daughter relationship that we don't see often enough on screen. I am sometimes wary of the repetitious tropes of stories about mental illness, but the filmmakers here have broken new ground and vitalized this sensitive genre while walking the tightrope of storytelling that is both charming and challenging, and speaking truth about dysfunctional love and the importance of family. It's funny and accessible, the dialogue sings, and all the characters are really engaging. I highly recommend that you give this one a watch. You won't be disappointed. I'm happy to share that, of the dozens of family and friends who I've recommended it to, all have reported back glowing reviews and urgent pleas for filmmakers to tell more stories like this one!
