It was a beautiful movie. I’ve watched anime since I was a boy but never got into more serious stuff. Always something with action. Heard great things about this movie so I checked it out and it’s great. It does a good job of pulling you into the characters world. Most of my friends and family aren’t into anime but when I recommended it to them, no one had anything negative to say. It’s just a good movie, anime or not. FYI - Noticed it was still on Netflix(Dubbed, btw) as of Feb. 10th, 22’.

This movie is amazing. I haven’t seen an anime this good is a very long time. It’s one of those movies that’s a mental relief and it’s emotionally satisfying. Animation itself is superb. Great foreshadowing and throwbacks. Great direction overall. My main issue with the movie (itunes version) is that the subtitles aren’t very accurate to the original Japanese dub. Translations for texts/signs sometimes appear very briefly which require a rewind or pause, if they appear at all. What really bothered me the most is during the elementary classroom scuffle, subtitles didn’t appear at all when Shoko says, “I’m doing the best I can.” Definitely worth watching. The Netflix version has better subtitles.
