Description

Never Be Done chronicles the seven year journey of Richard Lett, a once-respected Canadian comedian whose addiction to drugs and alcohol lead to him becoming homeless, estranged from his daughter, and shunned by his community. With no one to turn to, Richard disappeared. He ran away from his problems; he ran away from his responsibilities; he ran away from his life. Not merely a tale of one man’s downfall, Never Be Done is the story of Richard Lett’s struggle to forge a new life in the same environment that brought him down so completely. Filmed with candid intimacy and filled with archival footage and poignant testimonials, Never Be Done is a raw and unflinching documentary about the life and times of Richard Lett, who lost it all and lived to tell the tale.

Blown away by this amazing story. Tragedy strikes every alcoholic and unfortunately most of their loved ones as well! Roy did an amazing job capturing this footage of Richard while he was in the pit of despair. And then guiding us along in the transition from pit of despair to miracle of God! It’s an absolute miracle when an alcoholic opens up to the One who has all power and their life changes. Roy great job capturing Richard’s story!!!

This documentary is so incredible in showing us the nasty side of what addiction looks like but also how redemption can come into play. A lot of people have experienced this type of pain either having gone through it themselves or witnessed it with a family member. Director Roy Tighe brought all aspects of addiction to life and created a journey for us and instilled hope. Definitely a must see!!!

Just finished watching this documentary. Powerful display of overcoming addiction. Hit home on so many levels. Watching his struggle; finding compassion for him as a human and then finding yourself routing for him; makes for a great film. The director did a great job of making you feel all the emotions with this one and portraying him in such an honest way. 5 stars!

This film takes you are quite the journey! It’s clear from the first scene why Richard was picked for the subject of the movie, as he’s talented, provocative, and captivating to watch, even though he says and does despicable things. But as the years unfold before your eyes, the film takes you on a journey of redemption that’s simultaneously funny, sad, and heartwarming. I highly recommend!

Roy paints a cautionary tale of the boy who flew to close to the sun. An in depth query into a bleak odyssey of one’s attempts to make sense of his own addiction. A speeding train headed towards a one track bridge over an engulfed canyon burning out of control. I say bravo to good film making.

Very raw and gritty. Richard’s journey is full or ups and downs.
