Description

Becoming follows Alex (Toby Kebbell) and Lisa (Penelope Mitchell), a couple newly engaged and deeply in love. While on a road trip, they encounter an ancient evil force that chooses Alex as its new host and begins to slowly take over his mind and body, gradually transforming him into someone terrifying and violent. The changes are small at first. His handwriting. His body language. As Alex struggles with the horror of losing his identity, Lisa notices the shifts in the man she thought she loved. Is he falling out of love with her, or is it something far, far worse? Lisa tracks down Kevin (Jason Patric), a damaged survivor of the entity who has dedicated his life to defeating it. Together, they must outwit an indestructible malevolence that doesn’t want to destroy Alex, it wants to be him.

I love all types of movies and went in with an open mind. Was not even expecting a horror movie. This has nothing, let alone anything deep. Like watching a bad soap opera.

A disturbing story about a couple taking a road trip to introduce the boyfriend to the woman’s family. Along the way, he’s possessed by a murderous entity. The film works both as a metaphor for abusive relationships, and as a sort of anxiety dream for bringing home significant others to meet your parents. Great performances and truly fascinating ideas. Worth watching!

Not super amazing, but interesting enough to keep watching. Seems like it should have a different ending. Pt. 2, maybe?

Soooo good and soooo unsettling! You gotta watch it... not at all what you’re expecting!

The frights are there, totally, but the movie digs deeper than the average genre flick with solid performances and characters that feel real. Highly recommended.

A well written and well acted horror flick fitting for the trying times we live in. Naïm writes and directs a trippy horror film that is relevant in its exploration of a twisted relationship, that’s all too familiar in this #metoo era we live in. Highly recommend watching it!

This movie gives a different perspective to possession, and it worked really well. Amazing performances by the entire cast. Truly unnerving and haunting at times.

This is literally the worst thing I could watch while traveling with my partner. 😬
