Description

A decade after Zombieland became a hit film and a cult classic, the lead cast (Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Abigail Breslin, and Emma Stone) have reunited for Zombieland: Double Tap. In the sequel where the comic mayhem stretches from the White House and through the heartland, these four slayers must face off against the many new kinds of zombies that have evolved since the first movie, as well as some new human survivors. But most of all, they have to face the growing pains of their own snarky, makeshift family.

In fact it sucked, I’ll go ahead and say this movie was terrible. I really liked the first one though.

One thing I have to give credit to this movie for is how it doesn't overstay the welcome of its humor. They introduce Zoey Deutch's character, but she only has 30 minutes of screen time. The introduce Luke WIlson and his sidekick, but they're only there for 15 minutes. This works really well because, if the bits went on much longer, they would have become annoying. That said, it does feel almost like an anthology of short, comedy sketches (and probably would have worked better as a YouTube channel). The biggest problems, however, stem from the lack of attention to character, which is what made the first Zmobieland so successful. Everyone but Harrelson phones it in, almost like they were under contract and HAD to make this. The heart isn't there, the motivations aren't developed, and the characters don't grow. The result is a fun but mediocre comedy that is what it is and doesn't look back.
  • A satisfying sequel.

C’mon folks, It’s a sequel! For everyone who wanted more of the ‘World of Zombieland’ - it will hit all the marks you need. I honestly don’t understand all the folks who claim they ‘dusted off the script’. It’s like the sequel to a comedy/zombie apocalypse/road movie - should have been something other than a comedy/zombie apocalypse/road movie? What did you want? A brooding film noir character study? One could say “it just offers more of the same” - but the same is so good.
  • Not that bad, cmon

I really love this cast and I’m glad they stayed together. They definitely didn’t need a 2nd, the first was great. This one was just...ok. Good. Some of the story was just too cheesy and unnecessary.
