This is as real as it gets. Shows the true nature of war and how it destroys the human spirit while bringing out the soul of the soldier. Blessed be all those who fought bravely and lost their lives. Prayers to their families and friends.

... lacked detail. ... stop-go dialogue. ... actors posed like models, and spoke like uncultured suburban punks from same area. ... videography was way to close. ... director has absolutely zero knowledge of how the Viet Cong fought. ... casting and production; the freshly barbered actors failed to portray true fear and insanity that the heroes’ of the actual battle would have certainly experienced.

In this genre, Danger Close is a good movie, acting, script, development, etc. It is well worth a screening or rental. It is unbelievable, the North Vietnamese Regular soldier portrayal. Those depicted are well fed, quite weighty, in comparison to historic documentaries. Compare Vietnam era footage. Props are great. Where did you find so many M16s and working APCs? We used to call the M16 made by Mattel. Mattel is a toy manufacturer. Even the plotting boards look real. I was an 13F during Vietnam era with 82nd. That’s a forward observer, mortar, artillery, air support, and navel batteries. Mortar and artillery used actual boards. Yeah, boards. I brought in mortar to 100 feet of troops, and walked fire up a hill in front of troops. The movie is less realistic but still quite entertaining. Artillery and mortar shears the landscape. The canopy takes significant damage as do tree trucks strong enough to survive. Shrapnel cuts deep and clean at ground level, unless it is air burst. The most difficult fire mission I called was from inside a Huey, a helicopter. Oh yeah, the M16 doesn’t click when it’s out of rounds. Noobs. Also, M16s get super hot after extended fires, as do M60s. Nice try. I’ve have watched this movie repeatedly, ten times and more, Quite entertaining depiction of a difficult conflict. highly Recommend

Who care what the count of invading was whether 1000 or 2500 the fact is they were out numbered 10/1 at a minimum and did their best and came out on top by the grace of God! Action seemed very realistic. Thank you for your veterans for your service!
