Description

FAT tells the far-fetched but completely true history of how our country became so unhealthy. In 1970, just over 1. 5 million people had been diagnosed with Diabetes in the United States. Now over 30 million have Diabetes. What's even more alarming is that 100 million people, 1 in 3, have Diabetes or are Pre-Diabetic. This is not to mention the 40% of the population that are obese. How is this possible with the non-stop flow of new diets, exercise machines and our general obsession with health and weight loss? We're as unhealthy as ever. The truth is that we have pretty much had everything completely upside-down and backwards. FAT traces a detailed history spanning 150 years to show how misinformation and outright lies have become "truth. "

Life changing. Watch, be informed, experience the results, and dismiss the ill informed fat and pharmaceutical manipulators.

I had trouble sitting through this, especially when celebrity therapist Dr. Drew (yeah) put his two cents worth in, but I wanted to be fair and watch it in its entirety. So basically, vegetables and fruits are the culprits now and meat and whale blubber will save America’s hearts and waistlines. This HAS to be somehow sponsored by the beef or dairy industry.

I truly loved this documentary. I have been on some diet for my entire adult life (and I am almost 55). I’m always hearing about low fat, low fat. Fat scared me! Seeing the part about the child who stopped having seizures was the clencher for me. How the Pharma industry pushed other medications that didn’t hold as much promise as changing the child’s diet?! Yeah, as much as I love my tortillas and didn’t think I could sustain NSNG, I am committed now. This was well done, and I am grateful for everyone who had anything to do with this being made.
  • The truth finally!

Great summary of the history of nutrition, how government intervention worsened the problem and what we can do now.

Finally, someone has told the true story of why Americans are experiencing an obesity epidemic. We need to have considerable speculation about anything our government or large institutions tell us. Thanks to Vinnie and the crew for taking the time and effort to get the truth out there.

This documentary is revealing the truth that the public deserves to know. Most people are afraid of change and billions of dollars are at stake for major food companies. Vinnie did a superb job of revealing the truth.
