I wasn’t sure to watch this movie, but after a few minutes I was really awake and love it.
  • Well Done and Sad True Account

This is a tidy niche movie most likely appealing to those interested in naval history and disasters, submarines, post Soviet Russia and rescue attempts. It highlights the insecurities of the political and financial collapse of the former Soviet machine in the sad and tragic sinking by an internal explosion of the Russian Nuclear Submarine Kursk in 2000 with no survivors. It is very well done with very good special effects and accuracy. The locations, sets and editing are first rate and lend to the detailed recreation of the northern Russian location and underwater scenes. It is also acted very well by all without exaggeration and needless scenes. The parallel story is of the wives and children and it’s also very well told and acted. One cannot help feeling the disasters effect on the families of these poor souls. This is not a feel good movie, but a necessary tribute to the sailors and their families.
  • Ending = Trash

I did not like the movie ending because of the stupid Russian commanders decision. Other than that the rest of the movie was great and that’s why I gave it a one star because of the ending.

Originally titled "Kursk' for its global release, this is a faithful re-telling of one of the most tragic sub disaster of all time. Great performances and a very solid script recount the horrors of the crew and the desperation of the families left behind. Must-see for fans of the genre, and a memorable drama for everyone else.
