Description

In the documentary “ I Know That Voice”, Executive Producer John DiMaggio and along with Producer Tommy Reid artfully give you a backstage pass into the fascinating and little known world of voice acting. An array of today's most successful voice actors reveal themselves to discuss the art and skill of their work. Stars from such shows as The SImpsons, Futurama, Batman, SpongeBob SquarePants, Family Guy, Loony Tunes and so many more share their stories and give a human face to many of the cartoon characters we've grown up with. Winner of an Annie in 2013, this documentary will truly have you saying…. ”I Know That Voice”! This film intends to expose the word to the fascinating and all too often unrecognized world of voice over acting. From the talent that does the acting to the people behind the "animation cells" that make this work into an art form.

DiMaggio has managed to gather an exceptional cast of voice actors who explain both the history and art of their craft with exceptional care and passion. You will continually be impressed by the actors' insights into their industry, and tickled at remembering just how many characters you can remember by voice alone. One of my favorite documentaries of all time.

One of the most entertaining documentaries I’ve ever seen. Even if you have ever had a passing thought about what goes into voice acting, you’ll get sucked in. The film cover all of your favorite cartoons, both old school and new. All the people in here are legendary and are hilarious. They slip into their voices so effortlessly. The actors guide you through history and what it’s like to get a voice job and their tight nit community.

This documentary was an excellent view into the world of voice acting and unmasked someone of my favorite voices of all time. It was so good to see these people who apply their talents to a craft that has been with so many of us since childhood and continues now. It really inspired me personally to try my hand at it, and to really see it as a form of acting, which it definitely is!

After trolling around looking for something to watch, I landed on I Know That Voice! I had never thought much about voice acting but this documentary inspired me to give it a whirl. Three years later, I have two agents, have done three audiobooks, several corporate videos, and booked a video game for this summer. I found my passion because of I Know That Voice!

I love the feeling I got when I recognized an actor’s voice before their popular character name flashed on the screen. Great documentary and I would recommend to everyone.

There is no other documentary like this! It could also be titled “The Heroes of Your Childhood!” But that would be too long! I grew up watching a lot of these fantastic actors and I would not have even noticed them at the grocery store. Hearing and seeing their own stories is insightful to say the least. Thanks to the creative team behind “I Know That Voice” we mere mortals can only dream to become one of our heroes in this film! We might not even know that we are standing in line at the store next to VO royalty, but thanks to John DiMaggio and the rest of the crew maybe now we might! I really could watch this for hours! Can we get another one... please??? ❤️👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

A wonderful behind the curtain look at voice actors! The unsung hero behind cartoons and video games!! Way under-appreciated. Hope that more docs like this are made.
