Description

From the Academy Award® Nominated Producer of Up In The Air and Executive Producer of Juno. The world is a confusing place for Wendy, a fiercely independent and brilliant young woman with autism. Wendy longs to leave her group home and return to life with her sister’s family and new baby. She is sure that in order to reunite with her family all she needs to do is convince them of her newfound competence and abilities. As a lover of all things Star Trek, Wendy writes in her free time; so when she hears about a Star Trek screenplay competition, she seizes the opportunity to submit her 500 page script and prove her worth. The only problem: if she doesn’t hand it in in person she will miss the deadline! Wendy sneaks out of her group home and travels hundreds of miles outside her protected boundaries and refuses to let anything stop her from achieving her goals.

Thoroughly enjoyable. You’d have to be autsy to notice the choppy editing or breaks in character. Brings tears of delight to the eyes. Great acting. Fun to watch.

Deep, heartfelt, funny, emotional, a movie with realistic twist Dakota Fanning is brilliant, this movie is next best thing to ” Sam” - I have enjoyed watching Dakota grow up as a child actor - it's very challenging and takes courage to come out of the lane and change your character as an actor. Dakota is intelligent and her demeanor shows she thinks outside the box. I look forward to seeing her in many different roles from drama to comedy- am at a loss for words for movie genres but I just love and adore her and again. I look forward to seeing her in many different roles congratulations Dakota on such a successful film! ❤️

The story is incredibly well-written. The acting is good all the way around. I was hesitant about watching it, but I'm glad that I did.

Thoroughly enjoyed this movie! Dakota Fanning was simply phenomenal while being supported by an incredible cast. Alice Eve made me bleed with her honest contribution. A very well written, directed and acted story. Don't hesitate to watch. I think you will be equally surprised.

I about cried thirty times throughout the movie. Not because some parts were sad but I was proud. I don’t want to spoil anything so I will say I recommend this movie to everyone to spread awareness about autism. It’s very moving to know that big name actors and producers made this film.

Once again, Rotten Tomatoes proves to be so wrong. I really enjoyed this movie. Dakota Fanning did an amazing job as always and the film takes you on a rollercoaster ride of emotion.
