Keeping an open mind, for a universe of possibilities; this was a master piece. Well written and presented in true art form; the director is very creative. Thank you for making a excellent fantasy motion picture. A job well done.

I went to see this with an open mind. I wanted my money back like the South Park boys wanted theirs back after seeing The Passion. Horrible movie and story. I was laughing at the person in the same row as us who was crying the whole time.

I think three billboards was better and more visceral than this overrated fantasy movie! There were other fantasy movies that touched us so hardcore than it shouldn’t be compared to them (take LOTR for example)...

After reading the fabulous novel I thought the movie surely must be great. Wrong. So little character development, and far too much green on the set. Had I not read the book, perhaps I may have enjoyed the film more.

Not the classic Beauty and the Beast.

del Toro's execution of an innocent fairytale set in a less than inoocent world is a delicate balancing act that pierces the viewer's cynicism and leaves them inspired and connected to their child-like wonder. The tone and sentimentality reminds me of Cinema Paradisio or Amelie, but The Shape of Water grapples with much more complex themes, such as prejudice and cruelty, and still manages to leave me charmed.

Del Toro is at the top of his craft with The Shape of Water. Breathe taking cinematography compliment a heart felt story. The Shape of Water is a modern day fairy tale that blurs the lines of fantasy and reality. It’s by far my favorite movie of the past decade. Bravo!
