Description

Imagine the end of the world—now imagine something worse. Award-winning filmmaker Trey Edward Shults follows his incredible debut feature KRISHA with IT COMES AT NIGHT, a horror film following a man (Joel Edgerton) as he learns that the evil stalking his family home may be only a prelude to horrors that come from within. Secure within a desolate home as an unnatural threat terrorizes the world, the tenuous domestic order he has established with his wife and son is put to the ultimate test with the arrival of a desperate young family seeking refuge. Despite the best intentions of both families, paranoia and mistrust boil over as the horrors outside creep ever-closer, awakening something hidden and monstrous within him as he learns that the protection of his family comes at the cost of his soul.

This film lacks any thrills, no scary moments, nothing. Maybe that's the horror...

I went into this w/ no expectates and no prior knowledge and I really enjoyed this movie. Horror, as a genre, is more than jump scares, gory violence, monsters, supernatural occupancies, and so forth. This is about people and how they interact and react to one another. If u r the type of person that needs everything explained and spelled out for u, then u will not enjoy this movie as many reviews state. The specific setting of the film and WHAT exactly the disease is plaguing these people in this world are honestly inconsequential. And all these people saying things like “I waited for something to come at night but it never came!”...were u watching the same movie I was? Not only does something figuratively come but something literally does as well...twice even.

It’s not what it seems, ill be honest I really wanted to like this movie. It was advertised as a suspense/ horror movie. They never tell you or show you what comes at night. Or how long they’ve been isolated, why all this started. There are just to many unanswered questions.
  • A wonderfully dark film! Two thumbs up!

I got a great deal with this movie! $4.99! Whoever made this a deal is a genius! And, to make this even better, the movie itself is really good too! I love it! So dark and disturbing paranoia in this film! I love it, I enjoyed it, I think Trey is a creative genius!

Its an ok movie but nothing special. I do understand the backlash on here though. You can't market something as super suspenseful when its actually a slow burn.

The trailer makes you think it’s a jump scare movie but no. It all just focuses on the teenage boy’s depression. Nothing gets explained or solved. I gave this an extra star because I enjoyed the eeriness of it all but that’s about it:(
