Description

In a quiet suburban town in the summer of 1958, two recently orphaned sisters are placed in the care of their mentally unstable Aunt Ruth (Emmy®-Award-winner Blanche Baker of HOLOCAUST). But Ruth’s depraved sense of discipline will soon lead to unspeakable acts of abuse and torture that involve her young sons, the neighborhood children, and one 12-year-old boy whose life will be changed forever. William Atherton (DIE HARD), Catherine Mary Stewart (NIGHT OF THE COMET), and Grant Show (MELROSE PLACE) co-star in this devastating drama adapted from the controversial best seller by Jack Ketchum.

An HD release of this excellent film. Who does iTunes think they are? Disney? Trying to swindle us into buying the film twice.

It was a very hard movie to watch due to the physical torture and it literally broke my heart. But I must say the movie is well done and the acting is superb. It’s worth the rent...just as a disclaimer: prepare yourself mentally for what you’re about to see.

I actually was able to purchase this movie. So happy I did when I could. It's a remarkable true horrendously sad story of such an innocent life that shouldn't have been taken by such cruelty. This movie is so good & so greatly done. A must see if you can handle this. Life is so precious & people sure take for granted. It's horrible to know this was actual true events. Sickening world even back then. The young woman who endured all this pain didn't deserve it. She is now a beautiful angel in heaven where she won't have any more abuse afflicted on her. 😇✝️💙
