What makes this movie amazing is the way the camera catches everything.. the angles were very extreme ..

Maybe the worst Brad Pitt movie every. No plot, and no character.
  • The most misunderstood film of 2012

I really loved Killing Them Softly. It has great commentary, I love the acting and the scenes of long dialogue and banter. The scene of the card game. They way it was shot the timing of it the camera angles made it so intense. It was brilliantly done. I also thought Brad Pitt did a perfect job with this role. it was really great casting all around. It's really sad that everyone just wanted to see a shoot 'em up gangster flick and when they didn't get that decided to trash it and not even give it 1 ounce of thought. I understand everyone's entitled to their opinion but at least review the film you saw and not the one you wanted to see. I won't give anything away but need to say that the last few bits of dialogue in this film are one of my all time favorites. Great film!

Critics probably gave it good ratings based on the fact that it was a well made movie: cinematography, acting, screenplay. etc. Other than that, it was very very very...very boring. I was excited to see this cause the trailer sold it. My girlfriend at the time fell asleep and after 4 other couples walked out (and i'm not exaggerating or making that up) i decided to wake her up and leave too. Holy hell what a yawn fest, the majority of the movie was boring conversation.
  • So much potential, yet so little payoff...

Could have been so much better. With an absolutely amazing cast, Andrew Dominik missed the mark with his attempt to compare politics and crime by overlaying Bush and Obama speeches that only distract from the storytelling. So much potential, yet so little payoff. Unfortunate.

A truly exceptional film which for whatever reason was ignored. Everything about this movie works.
  • Great acting, poor scenario, mediocre directing

Too many different plots or strands, does not weave well into a true story. Too ambitious a movie devoid of real smarts. Oh well...

Not here apparently. If you like movies for the acting, dialogues, story and twists, this is for you. If you get bored cause no special effects, no gun that never runs out of bullets and you don't get the jokes then you will never understand the seventh art in all its splendor.

This movie could've been great, if it stopped with the trite Obama speeches. Just let the great actors act, get rid of all the background noise.
