Description

Jane (Abbie Cornish) has always photographed old and abandoned farmhouses for as long as she can remember. It’s a hobby bordering on obsession that has bloomed into a successful career. Until one day she photographs a particular house…and everything changes. A tragic car accident leaves her with severe memory loss. Strange boxes begin appearing on her doorstep with clues to a past she doesn’t remember…and a forgotten family she may have killed twenty years before. LAVENDER is a taut psychological thriller that bends the line between memory and madness, past and present, like a splinter in the brain struggling to escape. With the help of her husband (Diego Klattenhoff), her estranged uncle (Dermot Mulroney), and her psychiatrist (Justin Long), Jane must weave together scattered strands of memory to solve a mystery hiding 20 years in the past. But she’ll soon learn, some things are worth forgetting.

Rented this from the iTunes 99 cent rentals. Ppl check it out. It's not a bad movie at all. It's a bit scary a bit of mystery and some drama. It's not going to scare the crap out of you, but worth a watch. Kudos to iTunes and the 99 cent rentals!! Wtg! As well as the $8 dollar 💵 flicks to buy. I'm loving it and adding to my movie library. I watch mine while traveling, waiting at the Dr's office etc. For me- never can have enough flicks to watch. Thanks iTunes for making these more affordable 😊👍👍👍✅

This was an unsuspected surprise. I did not have much exception about this film and by the end I was surprisingly satisfied by the experience. This is a ghost story that glides on atmospheric buildup and unhurried storytelling. Unlike the current series of horror movies that rely on hyperkinetic scenes to get a jump scare out of the audience, Lavender creates a world of hallucinatory reality. I would not indulge on the story line here buy I would brush on number of elements that I really enjoyed about this film 1. Soundtrack, incredible amount of work has gone into creation of this soundstripe. This is an orchestral piece which is composed of many many layers of unique instrumental arrangements. They are quite original and composition really enhances the haunting visuals. 2. Photography, as with the soundtrack, the movie is inhabited with many equally stunning shots that brings out the almost fairy air amidst the horror. 3. Abbe Cornish is clearly in command here. I would say that she carries the movie all on her own. She delivers a multi-layered character performance which is mesmerizing on every scene she is present. At the end if you like a old fashioned ghost story which has no shortage of talent in every department give Lavender a try
