In 1967, during the height of the Cold War, two young CIA agents (Matt Johnson and Owen Williams) go undercover at NASA to investigate a possible Russian mole. In disguise as documentary filmmakers, they tap phones and break into offices while purporting to learn more about the Apollo project. But when they end up uncovering a shocking NASA secret — and a major government cover-up — they decide to embark on a new mission that puts their own lives at risk.

  • A dumb movie for those who wouldn't know

It is impossible to state in brief terms how lame this movie is. This gang of doobies are a living example of intellectual laziness, with very little effort put into learning anything about their subject and with a thoroughly clueless understanding of the culture and the history of the time. Among other things, they clearly never heard of Capricorn One. And they make the most moronic story mistakes (telling everyone and their grandmother they are faking the moon landing - even telling the sand and gravel guy, calling the CIA director on an open line with the earthshattering news - and just one scene after discovering they were being bugged, arguing with DCIA like a spoiled child arguing with their dad, the examples are endless). These are the kind of idiots who give their generation a bad name - uninformed, careless, and wistfully unaware of how totally clueless they are. On the positive side, with guys like these MST3K will never run out of stupid movies to riff on.

Fantastic and infinitely engaging film. There is insane talent behind this movie. The quality is visible regardless of what confusion was to be dealt with in production. A very fun watch, although some people seem to unecessarily take the content to heart. Super awesome, Love it.

Just can't get past the fact that people actually buy into the conspiracy theory that the moon landing was faked. We landed on the moon in 1969 - it was real. We have the footage and physical evidence to prove it. Don't become one of those "conspiracy" people.
  • Underrated and worth the watch
